Abstract

An 81-year-old woman was referred to our hospital because of hematemesis and a pre-shock state. After diagnosis of primary aortoduodenal fistula, the patient underwent stent-graft repair. Partial resection of the duodenum, gastrointestinal tract conversion to avoid stent-graft infection, and removal of inciting factors were then performed. There were no postoperative complications associated with surgery. Primary aortoenteric fistula (PAEF) is a deadly disease, but it is possible to treat PAEF safely with surgery by first performing stent-graft insertion.
