Abstract

Mo-99 / Tc-99m generator is a generator used for nuclear medicine imaging. The alumina column is used for this generator, and the daughter nuclide is dissolved in the physiological saline. It is frequently used as a radiopharmaceutical since the elution RI is the carrier free. The understanding of the generator system is important for the students of radiation technologist. A standard experiment of the generator makes them understand the relationship between its operation and structure, and radioactive equilibrium. Then, we added the experiment which used hydrogen chloride solution [HCl 1mol / l] and sodium hydroxide solution [NaOH 1mol / l] for the eluate. It was confirmed that the parent nuclide, which should not be separated from the column, was dissolved by this experiment, and it was possible to effectively understand the difference in standard use and non-standard use.
