At present an advanced air conditioning facility having the higher efficiency in heat transportation and also reducing the cost of operation is required. However, the realization of such a facility depends on the appropriate use of multiphase flow because of the necessity of system composition. In the air conditioning field, a latent heat transportation technology has been developed by using ice as one of the working fluids. Here the current research on ice-water transportation for applying it to air conditioning is shown as a typical example of high technology using multiphase flow.
