Neutron absorbed dose rates near a Cf-252 neutron source in a phantom was calculated by using a one-dimensional energy-dependent discrete-ordinate computer code, ANISN and the 171-group Vitamin-C cross section library'. The calculations utilized an S-16 angular quadrature approximation,171 energy groups and anisotropic scattering up to the first order in the cosine of the scattering angle. The results show that the neutron abSorbed dose rates decrease rapidly as a distance from a Cf-252 neutron source.
