Abstract
In order to study the high speed phenomena in biological and medical fields we have developed the new flash X-ray apparatus: This apparatus consists of four essential components, which are an evacuated anode-cathode gap for clinical use, a coaxial transmission line, a compressed-air gap switch, and a small-sized and high energy trigger device. The pulse width of flash X-ray wave form is about 0.4p sec. The maximum flash X-ray dose is about 50 mR at 1 m per pulse. The effective focal spot varies according to several factors but it can be reduced to less than 0.5 mm in diameter. Various flash X-ray radiograms have been obtained by the spectrum control.
