Abstract

The distribution of Typhula maritima was newly confirmed along the Pacific coast of Hokkaido, Aomori Prefecture, and Iwate Prefecture in Japan. To investigate the possibility that its sclerotia are dispersed by ocean currents, cellulose grains imitating the sclerotia of T. maritima were scattered to the tidal line and collected. This experiment revealed the possibility that the habitat area shifts by about 500 m due to disturbance of the area by waves.
