Lesch-Nyhan syndrome, a rare inborn error of metabolism, is characterized by hyperuricemia, choreoathetosis, mental retardation and self-mutation behaviors. A case of a 13-year-old male with this condition, self-mutilation of the lower lip was seen. A splint for the maxillary dental arch was inserted to prevent lip biting.
