Abstract
Clinical study of Sultamicillin (SBTPC, Unasyn®) in infections in the field of oral surgery was carried out.Sultamicillin was orally given in a daily dose of 1, 125 mg (375 mg × 3 times) to 70 patients with two type of infections (41 ostitis of the jaws, 29 pericoronitis).
The following results were obtained.The clinical effects obtained by subjective judgement were excellent in 34 cases, good in 29, fair in 2 and poor in 2.The clinical effects obtained by scoring judgement were excellent in 31 cases, good in 35, poor in 4.
As for side effects, mild diarrhea in 5 cases was observed.
In laboratory examinations, a rise of BUN was observed in 2 cases.
