Abstract

We studied the proliferating activity of odontogenic keratocysts. Seventeen odontogenic keratocysts and 20 radicular cysts were examined immunohistochemically using anti-PCNA monoclonal antibody. The average PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen) positive score of odontogenic keratocysts was 19. 7% and that of radicular cysts was 9. 1%. Two recurrent odontogenic keratocysts showed higher scores of 38. 1% and 28. 1% respectively.
