Abstract
The incidence of double cancers has recently increased, but quadruple cancers are rare. We report a case of quadruple cancers arising synchronously in the upper gingiva, penis, and kidney 2 years after colon cancer treatment. A 75-year-old man was initially referred to our department because of a swelling on the upper molar gingiva. Resection of colon cancer had been performed about 2 years previously. Two years after the resection, the patient experienced discomfort of the upper molar gingiva. Intraoral examination revealed a white granulated soft mass, measuling 10×9 mm in the upper molar gingiva. The histological diagnosis was squamous cell carcinoma (involv: Lng spindle cells). Chemotherapy with 5-fluorouracil intra-arterial infusion and radiotherapy with 60Co X -ray were performed. After these therapies, hemiresection of the maxilla was done. On admission, penile erosion and tumor formation in the left kidney were detected. Dermatological and urological examinations were performed. Resection of penile cancer and renal cancer was done 2 months after the operation in our department. There has been no sign of recurrence as of 1 year after operation.
