Abstract
This study is intended to describe some remarkable phaenomena of the numberform and colour-association, and to investigate their genetic mechanism and typological signification.
The report is devided into three parts.
The first hart shows some examples of the phaenomena among the high school boys, who had reported to have these phaenomena. Some of them were subjected to the psychological experiments, by association, calculation and others. The results are following:
(1) The number-form Phaenomenon is based upon the certain special stratification of consciousness.
(2) The forms are determined on the individual llfe experiences.
(3) There seem to be some changes of the fonns during mental development.
(4) The origins of the number-form are traced back to the primary school period.
(5) The number-form has the functionas the base-image(Grund-Vorstellung), which some psychic images are based upon.
(6) But, when a mental set is changed, it loses its function as the base-image.
In the second part, the questionary method was used, by which were investigated the primary school children, who have number-forms and colour associations, and their phaenomena. They showed to be able to localize the numbers in space easily and vividly, around bodies, faces, or before and behind heads.
There follows in the- third part, a series of the experiMental observations on the eidetiker.
I owe this study to the leading idea and methods of Prof. M. KIDO, E. JAENSCH and U. UCHIDA,-Many thanks.
