Abstract

Tracheostomy is airway management that will be enforced on upper airway obstruction, difficult to extubate by airway edema, respiratory failure etc.

It is important that anesthesiologist exists intraoperatively in term of sharing airway management with operator.

This time, patient was managed with intubation, I encountered difficult ventilation in anesthetic management of case that is judged to be difficult to extubate.

I experienced a case failure to rescue by rare complication called posterior tracheal perforation by tracheal cannula.

When we encounter this case, it is important that we are suspicious of this complication and deal with this complication properly.
