The photographic density of cineradiography can be easily controlled, if the characteristic curve of cine film measurd by the intensity scale method, precisely indicates relative exposure and photographic density in cineradiography. This was attempted using a photographic strobe light unit (strobe) as the light source for a sensitometer. In this paper, evaluation was made of the uniformity of light intensity distribution of strobe light in an exposured field. The sensitometer using strobe as the light source (strobe sensitometer) was manufactured, and a comparison was made with X-ray sensitometry, and long-term stability of exposure quantity of strobe sensitometer. The following conclusions were obtained. 1. The white semi-transparent acrylic board (wide panel) used for diffusion of strobe light, has no effect on the spectrum of a green filter. 2. The uniformity of light intensity distribution in strobe sensitometer can be determinded using a wide panel and mirror. 3. The characteristic curve obtained by strobe sensitometer, is essentially equivalent to that of the X-ray ND method. 4. Strobe sensitometer provides exposure with long-term stablity.
