Abstract
We reported here a clinocopathological features and clinical outcome of 6 cases of carcinoma associated with anal fistula (CAF) from 1996 to 2007 in our hospital. There are 5 male and one female, and the mean age was 61.8 years. Most of the patients suffered from perianal pain and mucus discharge and they have long term histories of anal fistula, the average number was 27.2 years. The correct diagnosis was obtained by mucus cytology, biopsy or excisional specimen. Histologically, 5 patient had mucinous carcinoma and they had no distant and lymph node metastases. It was difficult to obtain sufficient radial margin and local recurrence developed in 4 patients. Most of the tumors grow slowly but no sufficient effects were obtain by chemoradiotherapy. It is important to obtain early diagnosis and radical excision with clear margins for cure.
