Abstract
We report a rare case of adenomatoid tumor (AT), an uncommon benign tumor that originates from mesothelial cells. It is usually generated from the uterus, fallopian tube, epididymis, and spermatic cord. Only 34 cases of adrenal gland AT have been reported so far.
A 67-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for a tumor in her left adrenal gland. She did not exhibit any symptoms. The mass measured 4.0 cm in diameter on CT scans. Her blood and urinary tests showed that the tumor was nonfunctioning. Laparoscopic left adrenalectomy was performed. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells stained positive with cytoketarin, carletinin, and vimentin. Accordingly, it was diagnosed as AT. Although AT of the adrenal gland is very rare, it should be included in the differential diagnosis of incidental adrenal tumors.
