Abstract
We report a case of multiple small intestine hemangioma in a young female who underwent laparoscopic surgery to remove them. The patient was 16 years old. At age 12, she complained of headaches ; she was found to have an anemia for which no etiology was found. Positive fecal occult blood test results determined at age 16 suggested gastrointestinal tract bleeding. However, no lesion was found on endoscopic examinations either for the gastrointestinal tract or for the colon. Contrast X-ray studies of the small intestine showed small tumors, and double-balloon endoscopy revealed small intestinal hemangiomas. The small intestinal were resected hemangiomas laparoscopically. Four hemangiomas could be identified ; the small intestine was pulled out through an umbilical camera port wound, and the tumors were resected directly. Laparoscopic surgery is useful for multiple small intestinal hemangiomas.
