Abstract
We report a case of a 47-year-old male presenting with recurrent abdominal pain. Double-balloon enteroscopy and enteroclysis revealed tubular duplication at the mesenteric side of the ileum. Laparoscopy-assisted partial resection of the ileum was done, and alimentary continuity was restored by a functional end-to-end anastomosis. On pathology, a tubular communicating duplication of the ileum was found. There were no perioperative complications. We report, herein, the case of a tubular duplication of the ileum in an adult who was preoperatively diagnosed by double-balloon enteroscopy. Double-balloon enteroscopy is useful for preoperative diagnosis and tattooing, which makes a laparoscopy-assisted small bowel resection easier to do.
