A 72-year-old man presented to our emergency department with a diagnosis of gallbladder torsion based on computed tomography findings and underwent emergency laparoscopic cholecystectomy with a 4-port approach the same day. Intraoperative findings showed that the neck of the gallbladder was strangulated by intersecting bands between the large and small omentum, and that the gallbladder on the basal side was necrotic. The patient had a good postoperative course and was discharged home on the fourth postoperative day. Strangulated cholecystitis caused by bands is rare, and this case is reported along with a review of the literature.
