Abstract
For the purpose of better and earlier understanding in tracheal intubaton training, we have developed a new educational system. Two pictures are obtained from the video-laryngoscope and the stylet-scope, which are overlayed with each other on the same video screen. When we train residents and/or medical students about tracheal intubation techniques, the main problem has been that we can't share the same scene obtained with the trainees. Our newly developed video-system can provide us with real scenes in the patient's mouth as well as the position of tracheal tube in the patient's trachea. Moreover, when we use this system, giving instructions not only in cricoid pressure techniques but also in self-training situations, adopting a simulation model with a video-recording system are considered to be easier to teach or learn from and more effective than those in traditional teaching and learning methods. Thus, the present system should be applied to tracheal intubation education of new clinical rotators and emergency life-saving technicians whose numbers are increasing in our departments after.
