Abstract
Bradycardia is a common arrhythmia that clinicians might encounter in everyday practice. Accordingly, anesthesiologists must have accurate knowledge about bradycardia to be able to provide appropriate treatment.
Patients under general anesthesia tend to become bradycardic under the influence of an anesthetic drug. Therefore, it is difficult to determine when the medical treatment or pacemaker should start. If we detect any signs which indicate a low cardiac output, we should start treatment immediately.
Also, it is necessary to know the specific character of sick sinus syndrome and the atrioventricular block as a primary common disease which causes bradycardia.
When bradycardia occurs during anesthesia, observing the patient for any clinical symptoms is the most important assessment to determine the causes of bradycardia.
