Abstract
A seventy-one year-old man had left low back and leg pain and underwent laminectomy for lumbar spinal stenosis 4 years ago. Although his pain improved after surgery, it recurred and he was referred to our clinic. Epidural block and nerve root block at L5 and S1 was effective temporarily for his radicular pain. We therefore decided to perform epiduroscopy. Adhesion in epidural space at L5 and S1 level was found and the lesion near the left L5 intervertebral foramen was severe. Epidural adhesiolysis followed by injection of local anesthetics and steroids was performed carefully, which improved his pain. Over the next 6 years, he was treated with epiduroscopy 6 times in total when his radicular pain was aggravated. His pain improved as it did the first time and complications have not occurred.
