A Case of Difficult Airway Which Was Easily Intubated Using a Lighted-stylet (Trachlight^TM)

Abstract

Transillumination of the soft tissues of the neck using a lighted-stylet (Trachlight^TM) is an intubating technique which is easy to learn and its effectiveness has been reported in tracheal intubation in patients with difficult airways.
This report presents a successful intubation case with Trachlight^TM in a patient whom we failed to intubate by laryngoscopic and bronchoscopic technique in the last three consecutive anesthesias.
We consider that Trachlight^TM is on the effective device to intubate the tracheas of patients with a difficult airway.
