Abstract
Objective: We examined the diagnostic significance of intranuclear cytoplasmic inclusion in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL).
Study Design: We examined imprint cytological specimens from three cases of ALCL (T-cell type), seven cases of anaplastic large B-cell lymphoma (ALBCL), 133 cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (107 cases of B-cell lymphoma; 26 cases of T-cell lymphoma), and 15 cases of Hodgkin's disease, under microscope to determine the presence of intranuclear cytoplasmic inclusions.
Result: Intranuclear cytoplasmic inclusions were observed in all three cases of ALCL, but not in any of the cases of ALBCL, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or Hodgkin's disease.
Conclusion: These results suggest that the presence of intranuclear cytoplasmic inclusion may be an important clue in the cytological diagnosis of ALCL.
