Abstract
Background: We present two cases of uterine cervical clear cell carcinoma, which is relatively rare in Japan.
Case:(Case 1) The patient was a 67-year-old woman. the pathological findings showed clear cell adenocarcinoma (tubulocystic type) localized in the cervix. On cervical cytologic examinations, we found scattered large tumor cells with marked nucleolus and cell clusters with a sheet-like arrangement and light richly laced cytoplasm.(Case 2) The patient was a 74-year-old woman. On pathology, clear cell adenocarcinoma (mainly papillary type) was observed in the cervix. The cervical smear had scattered large tumor cells with marked nucleolus and also the cell clusters with collagenous stroma. We could not find any sheet-like clusters.
Conclusion: In two cases of clear cell adenocarcinoma with different sub types, we found different types of cell clusters.
