Abstract
AKASHI formation (Pliocene-Pleistocene) consists of gravel, sand and clay. KOBE group (Miocene) is composed of mudstone, sandstone and conglomerate.
The field loading tests have been done 24 points at 5 locations:
A-Gravellous layers with sand and clay
B-Gravellous layers with sand and clay, less gravel than A
C-Mudstone with nodule
D-Fine grained sandstone
E-Conglomeratic sandstone
Loading plates are four kinds of 37.5, 75, 150 and 300 centimeter in diameter. Available maximum load on the equipment of these tests is about 2, 000 tons.
