Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain a framework for issues related to the use of multimedia DAISY textbooks at schools, and to recommend support methods available for teachers to promote their use. The authors conducted a survey of 47 elementary, junior high, and high school teachers who participated in special needs education training. Results of the qualitative analysis, using KJ method, showed the factors < learners”, < DAISY>, < teachers (instructional methods of classes) > and < environment>. This fact suggests that it was not enough to provide direct support for teachers through trainings, but that there is a need for multifaceted support, such as preparation of a basic learning environment, and creation of an operation manual.
