Abstract

The mechanical properties are very important parameter to determine and analysis of stress and strain of a material. In this paper, a time-averaged digital speckle pattern interferometric technique is used to characterize the material constants (Poisson's ratio, Young's modulus and Shear modulus) of the polypropylene (PP) material. Poisson's ratio based on plate bending and Young's modulus based on plate vibration of material are measured by time-averaged digital speckle pattern interferometry with the advantages of non- destructive, non-contact and real-time measurement technique.
