"Home Energy-conservation Support Program" has been developed on the Website in this study. This Program has two
purposes. From a short-term standpoint, one is to promote the residential energy-saving behavior by activating
communication in a family. Another is, from a long-term standpoint, to get the information about energy consumption of the
Program members, clarify the relations between the energy consumption and the family attributes, and apply them to the
system design and the residential design. This paper shows the evaluation results of the Program performance through its
implementation for three years.
As for the energy-saving effect, the total energy consumption of the members was observed to be decreasing, which
suggests that the Program has prompted the energy-saving behavior of the members. By using the energy consumption data,
the author has estimated the energy consumption characteristics against the type of house, the size and age of family, and also
demonstrated the possibility of estimating separately the age effect and cohort effect of the residential energy consumption.
