In a commercial refrigerating system, the contribution to the environmental eco-burden mitigation would be desired. GF-08 of hydro-carbon refrigerant is eco-friendly. Because the environmental impacts of propane and propylene of which GF-08 composes are generally lower in comparison to the conventional ones. In this study, for the commercial refrigerating facility, the energy saving and environmental analyses were executed. Also, in order to obtain the additional benefit, the ground source heat was considered. The energy demand was evaluated by the thermal load simulator of Building Energy Simulation Tool BEST, and energy performances were estimated in variation of refrigerants. Note that the performances were done by the annual basis and that the climatic and other conditions were the same ones. As a result, in comparison of GF-08 to R410A, which is a conventional one, it was found that the advantage on energy saving was achieved by 7.8% in annual basis, and that the GHG emissions on LCA basis were mitigated by 8.6% in annual basis. In addition, the alternation of GF-08 would contribute to the abatement of indirect GHG emissions.
