Time variation in the soil water content after a rainfall is investigated using numerical calculations for liquid water transport in “sand”, “loam” and “clay”. A statistical-empirical relationship between the amount of precipitation and rainfall duration is used. The results, classified according to the amount of precipitation, are shown in a table. These data are available as initial conditions of the vertical profile of soil water content for the purpose of calculation of evaporation after a rainfall.
