Abstract

Values for stomatal opening and vapor pressure deficit at different leaf temepratures are estimated using both National Digital Land Information and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived from LANDSAT TM (Thematic Mapper). Latent and sensible heat fluxes for regional forests with consideration given to the different values of Leaf Area Index are evaluated on the assumption that the Monin-Obukhov similarity is applicable. The characteristics of the latent heat fluxes, which increase with the NDVI, are obtained by this model. Horizontal distributions of latent and sensible heat fluxes are also evaluated.
