In this paper which treats determining the amount of consumptive use in large area of paddy field by the inflow-outflow method, we put special emphasis on the following items :
(1) Multiplying the precipitation of the entire area excluding paddy field by a proper run-off coefficient.
(2) Estimating the amount of water seeping as ground water from the outside into the area.
(3) Considering the increment of the base-f ow which is expected from the area.
We present the method of estimating the amount of water 2) and 3), analysing the amount of flow at the end of the, drain canal in the area.
By applying this method to a practical field we obtained the amount of consumptive use which is seen rational.
