We evaluated and compared the impressions of human subjects after they experienced an interior residential setting created using a virtual environmental system with inclined projection display. As a control study, impressions of subjects exposed to a real environment identical in design and appearance to the virtual environmental system were recorded. The experimental results clarified the similarities and the differences of the subjects' impressions of spaces in both environments, which should be taken into account in future experiments of space impressions done using a virtual environment system.
