Abstract
Fungal sinusitis is caused by fungi such as Aspergillus. The patient was a 70-year-old female. Panoramic X-ray photographic imaging showed findings suggesting a foreign body in the left maxillary second molar area. CT scan results led to a diagnosis of left-sided maxillary sinus aspergillosis due to a foreign body in the maxillary sinus. Under general anesthesia, the patient underwent extraction of the left maxillary second molar, foreign body removal surgery, maxillary sinus radical surgery, and maxillary sinus fistula closure. The histopathological diagnosis was maxillary sinus aspergillosis. It is necessary to consider the possibility that maxillary sinus aspergillosis may be caused by a foreign body.
