A man in his 40s came to our hospital because of intractable hip and thigh pain caused by desmoplastic fibroma of bone (DFB) in the acetabulum. Because temporary pain relief was achieved by femoral and sciatic nerve block under local anesthesia, a pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) block was performed at the same site, which resulted in long-term pain relief and improvement in ADL. We describe a case that pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) was effective for hip and thigh pain caused by DFB and improved ADL. It is important to accurately determine the nature of the pain by interview and diagnostic treatment with nerve blocks, as PRF may reduce pain due to primary bone tumors if there is a neurogenic pain component.
