Trigger-Flex^TM Dart Bipolar system: a new therapeutic modality for percutaneous nucleotomy

Abstract

Nerve blocks as well as percutaneous nucleotomy (PN) is sometimes chosen for patients with cervical disc herniation. Trigger-Flex^TM Dart Bipolar system (Dart Bipolar) is a new therapeutic modality for PN, but its clinical evaluation has not been reported. We underwent PN utilizing Dart Bipolar for 4 patients (5 disks) in clinic with bed between April 2020 and March 2021. Visual analogue scale (VAS) was obtained before PN, just after, 1 and 6 months after the procedure. Although 3 disks achieved pain-free state, the pain did not improve in 2 moderate degenerated disks. There was no complication. Dart Bipolar has small diameter and its procedure is very simple compared to existing therapeutic modalities.
