Abstract
A NEDO project proposed by JRCM and AIST aims at the integrated development of materials and mold processing technologies for high-precision micro-components through unified promotion of three themes: (I) Development of Novel Metals with High Formability, (II) Development of Materials and Processing Technologies for High-precision Mold, and (III) Development of High-precision Forming Technology. In this paper, the necessity of the development of finer submicro-grained WC-Co hardmetal than the present commercial ones is described.
