Preparation of TiO₂ Pillared Mica for Forming Composite Sheet with Photocatalytic Properties

TiO₂-pillared mica was prepared by mixing mica and acidic solution of hydrolyzed Ti alkoxide, and characterized by XRD and pore distribution measurement. The prepared material was composite powder containing pillared TiO₂ fragments after calcination at 700 °C. The doctor blading technique was applied to make green sheets, and the resulting TiO₂ pillared mica sheet exhibited good photocatalytic properties for gaseous acetaldehyde degeneration.
