Crystal Structures and Phase Transformation in High Tc Y-Ba-Cu-O Compounds

Abstract

It is known that oxygen atoms along the chain in a YBa₂Cu₃O_6+x compound play an important role in the superdonducting properties. We review the behavior of the oxygen atoms in terms of the order-disorder transformation and its effect on the electrical and structural properties.
