Abstract
The oxalate coprecipitation method was applied to the preparation of a new high-Tc superconductor BiSrCaCu2Ox and crystalline phases obtained by heat treatment were studied in connection with superconducting preperties. The pyrolysis of the coprecipitates was completed below 500°C and subsequent heat treatment above 800°C resulted in the formation of the layered structure characteristic to the superconducting phase. The particle shape was of thin flakes with the size of 10μm. The superconducting phase with Tc of 110K was formed by the heat treatment just below the melting point, which was enhanced in the melt - cooled sample.
