Bulk superconductors of Bi oxide system dominated with the high-Tc phase and a highly oriented microstructure is obtained by a powder method inserting an intermediate pressing process. The critical current density, Jc is improved by this uniaxial pressing by one order of magnitude or the more than that of unpressed sample. The field dependence of Jc is also improved.
