Abstract
We have adopted iron iodide intercalation into Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy. The intercalation compound was prepared by heating pelletized mixture of polycrystalline Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy powder and Fe powder in iodine atmosphere.
The powder X-ray diffraction pattern showed the same result as of FeI2+xBi2Sr2CaCu2O8+y synthesized by Kijima group. The Mössbauer spectra showed α-Fe2O3(60%), 40% iron iodide intercalation performed. From a.c. magnetic susceptibility, the compound showed insulating. Iodine intercalation was also performed in order to compare their superconductivity.
