Abstract
A case of Turcot syndrome in a 13-year-old boy is described. At the age of 9, craniotomy and removal of the brain tumor (glioblastoma) were performed and followed by chemotherapy and irradiation. Rectal bleeding was found 4 years after the craniotomy. Polyposis of the colon was detected endoscopically. At laparotomy, intussusception due to the largest polyp, 7×5×3 cm in size, was found. Hemicolectomy was performed. Histological examination of the tumor showed definite adenocarcinomatous changes of the polyp. No family history of brain tumor or of colonic polyposis was noted.
