Abstract
A case of bronchial gland tumor in a child was reported. A 10-year-old boy who had fever and cough was admitted for evaluation. Chest X-ray showed an abnormal shadow in right lower lung field, which had been already shown in a X-ray taken four years before. Computed tomography and bronchoscopy demonstrated a bronchial tumor in right lower lobe bronchus. Right lower lobectomy was performed. The tumor was diagnosed as bronchial gland tumor of low grade malignancy, which was histologically different from any subtype of bronchial tumor. Bronchial tumors are rare in childhood. The frequent symptoms are fever, cough, and pneumonitis, and the diagnosis is often delayed due to the nonspecific nature of their symptoms. Persistent pulmonary symptoms need careful examinations to rule out bronchial tumors.
