Abstract
An intrathoracic kidney is an extremely rare renal ectopic. Two cases of intrathoracic kidney with multiple anomalies are reported. Case 1 was a 0-day-old female infant who had left intrathoracic kidney associated with body stalk anomaly, diaphragmatic relaxation and hypoplasia of right toe. Case 2 was a 10-month-old boy who had right intrathoracic kidney associated with hemihyperplasia, bilateral undescended testes, hypospadia, bilateral auricular anomalies and hypoplasia of right depressor anguli oris muscle. He had a congenital anomaly of a renal artery. Neither of them had any symptom concerned with intrathoracic kidney. Most intrathoracic kidneys are asymptomatic and have normal function, so that they need no therapy if they are not associated with the other symptomatic anomalies.
