A 4-year-9-month-old boy had intussusceptions 11 times and undergone enema reduction (ER) treatment since 10 months after birth. Ultrasonography (US) after ER revealed multiple nodules, and endoscopic examination revealed numerous polyps at the terminal ileum. Endoscopic biopsy proved the polyps to be benign lymphoid polyposis (BLPS). We believe that the BLPS was strongly associated with the recurrent intussusceptions. In Japan, there have been 19 cases of BLPS being the trigger for recurrent intussusceptions. The mean onset age was 4 years, and the average number of intussusceptions was 2.8. The average ER success rate is 26.3%. US is very useful for investigating the cause of recurrent intussusceptions and can help estimate the effectiveness of treatment on lesions. There have been several reports on the effectiveness of steroids in this disease; however, in our patient, steroid therapy was not effective. Further studies are required to estimate the effectiveness of steroids for this disease.
