Abstract

We have indicated the single-incision laparoscopic surgery (TANKO) for various surgical procedures. Isolated tubal torsion associated with hydrosalpinx (ITTH) is an uncommon cause of abdominal pain in the pediatric age group. Although the diagnosis of ITTH is difficult, we report the case of a pediatric ITTH patient in whom TANKO was useful for diagnosis and treatment. A twelve-year-old girl was admitted owing to acute abdominal pain and nausea. ITTH was suspected preoperatively by magnetic resonance imaging. TANKO was performed and ITTH was discovered. The tube was necrotic and salpingectomy was performed. Recovery was uneventful and the patient was discharged on post-operative day 2. TANKO for pediatric ITTH is safe and useful with good cosmetic results.
