Abstract

Vegetation base needs some durable materials which have friendliness toward plant life. This research presents some durable and environmentally-friendly vegetation base by utilizing rice husk ash. In this paper, the performance of cement improved soil mixed with rice husk ash as a vegetation base was evaluated by five kinds of examination. Pore size distribution test, compressive test, permeability test, water retention test, and planting experiment were investigated. As a result, the cement improved soils (replacement rate: 50 %, 70 %, 80 %) passed target values of porosity, permeability, and durability. Characteristics of pore size distribution and development of plant rhizosphere were affected by replacement ratio of rice husk ash.
