Abstract

In order to clarify the relationship between the diversity of soil fauna and organic matter decomposition characteristics in urban green areas, we investigated the chemical and biological properties of soil, soil fauna and organic matter decomposition characteristics. As a result, it became clear that the detritivore diversity decreased with the increase of soil pH. On the other hand, organic matter decomposition was activated by fungi and bacteria in green areas where soil carbon concentration was high.
