被覆材の飛砂固定, 蒸発よく制および植物の生育に及ぼす効果についての研究

It is well known that mulching of physical and chemical materials are effective to erosion control on devastated area. The studies were carried out in order to determine the effects of some chemical emulsions with comparison of straw mat as a conventional method on sand fixation, cotrol of evaporation loss and promotion of plant growth after the mulching.
The experiment on the sand fixation was done at Hamaoka seaside and the other experi-ments were done at the Arid Land Agricultural Research Laboratory of Shizuoka University in Hamaoka (Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan).
The results of these experiment are summarized briefly as follow:
(1) The mulch treatment of the polyester cloth covered with the blown asphalt emulsion was excellent in effect on sand fixation. This complex treatment and the single treat-ment of blown-asphalt emulsion showed high effect to evaporation control from sand surface.
(2) The results of water percolation test, however, these two treatments showed remakably impermeability. And also the germination of seed was impeded in order to these mulch treatments. Moreover, the covering work of the polyester cloth in field was not easy under strong wind condition.
(3) The treatments of the synthetic-resin emulsion A and B are made up of acid vinyl gave strong effect against to wind erosion and maintained sand fixation function for long term. On the control of evaporation from sand surface, this treatment showed relati-vely high effect and it influenced to good growth of plant after much application.
(4) The effect of sand fixation by the straw mat as conventional method was almost same as aboved mentioned chemical mulching materials. But its effect on evaporation control from sand surface less than the mulching by chemical materials. And this method needs more hands to apply than the chemical-emulsion mulching. Therefore, its mulching cannot adapt for covering on large area.
(5) As the experiment results, the mulching with a proper quantity of the synthetic-resin emulsion B of acetic-acid vinyl and the blown-asphalt emulsion are suitable for covering work on large scale of devastated land as desert and cost sandy area.
